First Aid and Sea Survival

Seatrips conducted a seminar for First Aid and Sea Survival techniques in the indoor swimming pool of Pepanos facilities in Patras.

The one day seminar included exercises of Shipboard Emergencies such as boarding a survival craft and using survival equipment as well as in-water survival techniques.

It is vital that all the crew on board a vessel know their responsibilities and work together as a team to prevent problems from occurring and if they occur to solve them successfully!

There was also practice in CPR techniques, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and secondary care such as choking management and injury assessment.

Having some basic first aid knowledge is essential as it enables you to increase patient comfort, it gives you tools to prevent the situation from becoming worse, it creates the confidence to care and it encourages healthy and safe living.
